HRH Queen Elizabeth II, who on 21st April celebrated her 89th birthday, has recently been presented the first ever “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the Fédération Equestre Internationale, recognising her outstanding contribution to equestrianism. So let us take a moment to recount the life of a remarkable woman, whose passion for horses has remained unchanged over the years.

Cruising was a world famous Irish Sport Horse Stallion considered one of the worlds most significant sires of the 21st century. He died in september 2014, and Hartwell Stud in Ireland have announced they now have two - 2 and a half year old clones of Cruising coming of age in Co. Kildare Ireland.

UAE law to combat doping in equestrian sport

Abu Dhabi: A federal law to combat banned substances in equestrian sport was recently issued by the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The law aims to combat the trade and use of banned substances in equestrian sport in the UAE to ensure fair competition and eliminate cheating.

Chantilly: a magical place dedicated to the horse

Jumping Chantilly is one of the “not to be missed” venues of the international show jumping circuit. It takes place in a wonderful setting, in the grounds of one of the most beautiful castles in France. The venue has increased in status and now holds a stage of the Global Champions Tour until at least 2017. It has also just been “twinned” with the prestigious circuit Wellington Equestrian Festival in Palm Beach (Florida).

Show Jumping at Chantilly: two meetings at a superb site

The beautiful chateau of Chantilly is to be the venue for two important international show jumping competitions this year. The first major outdoor competition in France that includes CSI*, CSI** and Amateur classes will be held 18th to the 20th of April. Later in July (24th to 27th) Chantilly hosts the prestigious CSI 5 * which is a stage of the Longines Global Champions Tour.

The Chinese New Year started on January 31st and 2014 is under the sign... of the Wood Horse. Following the water snake, the year of the Wood Horse is set to enjoy increased equestrian success. The Arab Horse World Championship 2013 in Paris

The Salon de Cheval, held in Paris, is the stage each year for the Arab Horse world championships for which His Majesty the king of Morocco, Mohammed VI, is the patron. A total of some 140 good quality horses competed in different classes for top yearling, junior and senior titles. However, one star eclipsed all, Pianissima the beautiful charismatic Polish-bred bay mare and winner of the Platinum Medal (now recognized by the European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations, ECAHO).

During a conference at the WAHO (World Arabian Horse Organization) held in Doha she did not hesitate to express her views on touchy subjects such as the well being of horses in all sports, embryo transfer, hyperflexion and "natural" horsemanship.

The Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping 2013 : a thrilling new formula

The FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping series celebrates 104 years of team competition this year. The 2013 season has seen the introduction of a new formula : following a new sponsorship deal with the Saudi Equestrian Fund, this historic series will now be known as the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping.
The 2013 season comprises 22 qualifiers in as many countries.

World Arabian Horse Championship 2012 at Paris-Villepinte

The 32nd World Arabian Horse Championship took place from 7 to 9 December 2012 in the Horse Show in Paris and demonstrated the success of great champions. Famous stallion QR Marc is World Champion Senior Male, and the Platinium Medal crowned another great sire, Dakharo.
The World Champion Senior Male was the delightful two-years old Wadee Al Shaqab, son of Marwan Al Shaqab.
There were maby excellent horses from Polish traditional studs that were also prize winners.
