Famous stallion Cruising cloned!

Cruising was a world famous Irish Sport Horse Stallion considered one of the worlds most significant sires of the 21st century. He died in september 2014, and Hartwell Stud in Ireland have announced they now have two - 2 and a half year old clones of Cruising coming of age in Co. Kildare Ireland.

Many of you will remember Cruising’s jumping ability and his faultless technique. This grey Irish Sport Horse stallion was ridden by Trevor Coyle during his long and outstanding show jumping career.

Cruising won many Grand Prix’s worldwide including Aachen, Dortmund, Lucerne as well as 3 world cup qualifiers and in 1999, was second in the World cup finals in Gothenburg – Sweden. He was also on many winning Nations cup teams including Calgary – Aachen – Rotterdam and twice at Dublin.

A world class pedigree

Cruising pedigree is world-class. He is by the Registered Irish Draught Sea Crest, a Grade A Show Jumper, renowned for winning at all major shows throughout Ireland.Sea Crest’s dam was Sea Spray by Tara, a maternal Sire of the famous Clover Hill.

Cruising’s dam Mullacrew was an International Show Jumper, and his grand dam was Big Idea, who is a full sister to the well known Irish stallion Ideal Waters. Big Idea by Waterserpent, was sire of a long line of famous International Show Jumpers including such horses as The Rock, ridden by Captain Piero d’Inzeo for Italy.

Cruising was or many years the predominant choice for many international breeders. He is the only stallion to have obtained 5 star rating for his own performance and 5 star ratings for his progeny’s performance in Eventing and Show jumping, these include in 2012 world cup champion and USA show jumper of the year Flexible, and also the leading USA eventer of the year Mr.Medicott.

As the Traditional Irish Horse is sought after worldwide, it is hoped the two clones - Cruising Arish and Cruising Encore, holding 100% of Cruising’s genes will keep Irelands reputation of breeding world class performance horses to the fore.
